Financial Accountant – CARITAS Australia Timor-Leste Program

The position will be responsible to support the Finance Manager in effectively managing and running the overall operations budget in Timor-Leste by providing sound financial support and analysis in a timely and efficient manner to enable informed decision making and effective use of resources in the services of the poor and marginalized.

 

Selection Criteria

  1. Degree and/or substantial experience in accounting/ financial management, at least three (5) years of proven work experience in accounting and financial management
  2. Proven experience in financial reporting, strong analytical skills and proficiency in accounting packages such as MYOB.
  3. Ability to work effectively in English, Tetum or Bahasa Indonesia, including the ability to convey ideas clearly, facilitate discussions and stimulate critical thinking
  4. Good oral and written communication skills in English
  5. Excellent management skills, interpersonal skills and ability to work within a team.
  6. Strong commitment to the Mission of Caritas Australia, in our quest to end poverty through the full realisation of human dignity and wellbeing for all, and to the Catholic Social Teaching principles which underpin our work globally.
  7. Well-developed computer literacy with an advanced knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite of programs
  8. Willingness to travel to the districts and remote locations within Timor-Leste
