THE ROLE
The Program Manager, Timor-Leste contributes to IWDA’s partnership and program implementation as a part of the IWDA Timor-Leste Country Program at IWDA. This position sits within the Asia Team (with current partnerships in Cambodia, Myanmar and Timor-Leste), in the Systemic Change & Partnerships Team at IWDA.
Reporting to the Senior Program Manager, this role drives feminist, systemic change approaches to partnership building, program development and implementation, financial management, advocacy, monitoring, evaluation and learning, and contract management.
Currently, the Timor-Leste program operates across all three of IWDA’s strategic themes, civil political participation and women’s leadership; women’s economic empowerment; and women’s safety and security through a portfolio of projects in partnership with civil society organisations in Timor-Leste.
In addition to partnership and program coordination, the Program Manager will also contribute to wider program development at IWDA, including organisational monitoring, evaluation and learning, thematic working groups, funding submissions and IWDA communications for development.
THE CANDIDATE
You will have:
- Demonstrated practice in designing, developing and implementing gender and development programs (ideally in Timor-Leste and/or Southeast Asia).
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in program management, including project design, implementation, monitoring and evaluation, support with partner capacity strengthening, inputs in technical program management areas.
- Strong experience and highly developed skills in financial management, including budget planning and forecasting, coordinating quarterly/6-monthly, annual acquittals, financial and variance reporting, as well as providing partner level support.
- Strong understanding of child protection and prevention of sexual abuse and harassment policies and procedures
- Relevant post-graduate qualifications.
- Excellent organisational skills including the capacity to prioritise and to meet deadlines.
- Highly developed inter-cultural and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to feminism in practice.
- This position is Based in Melbourne, Australia with 12 week travel to Timor Leste

THE OFFER
Offered as a full-time fixed term contract (until December 2020).The annual salary is a SCHADS 6/ SACS Class III. In addition, attractive PBI/NFP packaging is available.
