                                    IT Officer

 

 

Our growing NGO is seeking to hire an IT Officer who will be responsible for managing the entire IT task related to the country-wide office daily use of internet and troubleshooting, fixing the laptops, tablets, printers, and any technical errors, providing best and good quality information of laptops, and tablets, to be purchased prior and during procurement process, liaise with Internet Service Provider and manage the related IT assets.

 

Based on Dili, however will be required to travel to field offices, a Bachelor's degree in Information and Technology or a related field is required. To succeed in this role, you will need excellent communication and problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to work under pressure and have sense of confidentiality to get important work done. Previous experience in any other important role is a plus.

 

IT Officer Responsibilities:

·         Oversee and maintain the existing IT infrastructure; including LAN & Wireless-LAN with Cisco Meraki network appliances, file Server & shared drive services, Kaspersky Administration Server, workstations, UPS backup systems etc.

 

·         Ensure the security of all systems through firewall, anti-malware, and encryption security for Wireless-LAN.

·         Prepare strategies as it pertains to IT infrastructure, hardware, and data assets as part of the organization’s comprehensive contingency and business continuity plans.

·         Oversee selection of IT equipment and accessories required for the smooth functioning of IT systems. Advise Procurement and Logistics Department on the purchasing of IT equipment.

·         Assist in the identifying specification, relocation and assembly of any equipment including computers, printers, and accessories

 

IT Officer Requirements:

·         Bachelor degree in Information and Technology or any related field  

·         Minimum 3 year’s progressive experience setting up and managing human resource and/or administration systems with supervisory responsibilities. Private sector experience a plus.

·         Knowledge of donor regulations including USAID, EC, DFAT, MFAT, etc

·         Excellent negotiation and representation skills.

·         Excellent oral and written English and Tetum skills required; Portuguese a plus.

·         Ability to set and meet deadlines, diagnose and solve problems independently and as a team.

·         Proficiency with MS Office software required (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

·         Demonstrated commitment to the promotion of a gender-empowered, non-discriminatory work environment
